Bob Vogt - the "Mayor of I Street" - passed away yesterday. He was 87.
Bob was a neighborhood activist for more years than I can count. He served on the FBA Board on several occasions, as well as on the Board of the Trust. He was responsible for the upkeep of the 26th Street Park for many years, often leading neighborhood clean-up days.
Bob died peacefully, surrounded by family. According to his wishes, he will be cremated and his remains buried at Arlington Cemetery. As he requested, there will be no service. However, I will ask everyone at tonight's FBA Annual Meeting to observe a moment of silence in his honor.
Rest in peace and power, Bob.
